Rights and provenance
XIM Audio licenses the largest licensed corpus of real DAW sessions with aligned stems, MIDI and plugin chains. These are the questions a diligence team asks us, with our answers.
Who made this and who owns it
Working producers who sell on WMDM, a marketplace online since 2012. They keep full ownership. The seller terms grant WMDM a non-exclusive partner licence that names "developing, training and improving software, audio tools and other technology, including machine learning". Every creator has authorised it in writing.
Is it public
No. Stems, sessions, MIDI and presets are sold files from private download archives, never streamed, never crawled.
What is licensed
The sound: the recordings, the sessions and the files, as production data. Compositions and lyrics are not part of the licence, and no delivery carries a song title, an artist name or a lyric.
Separated stems
None, in any set. Every stem is a lane of the session, printed from the project itself. No separation model made any file we license.
Who gets paid
Creators receive a share of every licence, pro rata by what of theirs is in it.
How each asset is documented
One manifest per delivery: pseudonymous song and creator IDs, one instrument label per lane, DAW, BPM, key, sample rate, duration, plugin chain where known. A datasheet ships with every delivery: sources, dates, processing, de-duplication, exclusion list, known limits.
Personal data
None in the audio. Creator identity stays with WMDM and is not delivered. No song title, artist, producer or product name either: every song and creator is a pseudonymous ID, every file a numbered lane.
AI-made content
None. Every stem is printed from the original session, part by part, and the manifest names the session it came from.
Licence shape
Non-exclusive by default, named use, term and renewal. Models and outputs are yours. No redistribution of the files. Exclusive by conversation.
Delivery
A private S3 prefix or your own bucket, one scoped key per deal, access logs, a 30-day window. WAV as sold, FLAC on request.

A written consent is still being collected for part of the set, named on the dataset page. The set shows, the sample stays small, and the quote says when it clears.
